7 QT on July 4th

1)
Hurricane Arthur is coming!!

And he's ruining all our Fourth of July plans, but we still dressed patriotic.  Here's half of our family.  The other half are currently reading, sleeping, working out, and typing.

2)
We have a new Bishop!

Well, Pope Francis has named a new bishop for our Diocese, the Most Rev. Edgar da Cunha, who will be installed on September 24.

3)
Declan turned 3 months old this week!  He went to the doctor yesterday for an extra weigh-in, as he is a skinny one still (he prefers "fit") and he weighed in at 12 pounds 3 oz.  But the doctor was happy because he went up a little bit on the weight curve, so she thinks he's perfectly fine.  He's 75% for height, and 90% for head circumference.  I guess I can just accept the fact that he is long and lean and extra smart :)

4)
The older boys were at Altar Server Boot Camp this week, which is something they look forward to every year.  Our pastor teaches them how to be Altar Servers, but ,akes it really fun, and plays sports like combat soccer, ultimate frisbee, cricket (he's British!) and feeds them good food and lots of treats.  On the third day, they go on a field trip.  This year they went to the Providence Cathedral and Dave & Busters.   Fun, fun, fun.

5)
Because John-Paul and Andrew were off having loads of fun, we wanted to make sure the "middles" (Eamon and Maggie) had some fun too.  They got treated to Taco Bell and ice cream, went swimming and bumper boating (new verb, just made it up) with their "big sister", Haley:

6)
Since we won't be watching the parade this year because of the stormy weather, I'll just watch the slideshow I made of the 2012 Parade in Bristol, RI - the oldest July 4th Parade in America!!

7)
I don't want to think about the next school year yet, but I was lucky to be on the receiving end of some new lunchboxes from Personal Creations.

I love that they are personalized, so when I (okay, who am I kidding), Phil makes the lunches, there's no more confusion as to whose lunch goes in which lunchbox.  Because God forbid if Maggie got the peanut butter and jelly sandwich intended for Andrew.

The inside is great too, easy to wipe out and keep clean, and the zippered mesh pocket lets kids see any money or notes in there while keeping them safe.  If you're in the market for anything personalized, go visit their site for more!

Have a Happy 4th everybody!!  Stay dry!!

  2. *sigh of relief* I'm not the only one whose husband makes lunches for the kids. I feel like a failure but write notes to Sam to make up for it :)
